MegaHouse has announced a new One Piece release for its premium VARIABLE ACTION HEROES action figure line. The massive “Whitebeard” Edward Newgate Ver. 1.5 action figure goes up for preorder on October 8!
Once counted among the Four Emperors, the legendary pirate “Whitebeard” Edward Newgate was the only man capable of standing toe-to-toe with Pirate King Gol D. Roger. He commanded the enormous Whitebeard Pirates, which included 16 divisions. Orphaned from birth and longing for a family of his own, Whitebeard affectionately called his crewmates his “sons.” After eating the Paramecia-type Tremor-Tremor Fruit, he gained the power to unleash catastrophic earthquakes and tsunamis with a single punch. Eiichiro Oda even described him as the “world’s strongest pirate” in an official data book!
Based on product photos currently circulating online, Ver. 1.5 appears to reuse the sculpt from the original 2017 release, retaining the figure’s towering size while replacing the plastic coat with a fabric version. The figure carries a suggested retail price of 22,000 yen and is scheduled for release in May 2027. We’ll share the full official release details as soon as they become available, so stay tuned. If you missed the original version, don’t let this second chance slip away!
