BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS has officially unveiled the latest My Hero Academia release for its S.H.Figuarts action figure line: the IZUKU MIDORIYA & KATSUKI BAKUGO -Childhood Set-. Priced at 11,000 yen, the set is scheduled for release in May 2027.
Izuku and Bakugo grew up together, but their childhood relationship was anything but easy. Gifted with an exceptional Quirk, Bakugo's inflated ego and deeply buried insecurities drove him to ostracize and bully the Quirkless Izuku, mockingly calling him "Deku." Despite fearing Bakugo, Izuku continued to admire his strength and relentless drive to win. With both boys idolizing All Might, their complicated bond ultimately pushed them toward the same goal: becoming the greatest heroes.
The IZUKU MIDORIYA & KATSUKI BAKUGO -Childhood Set- recreates both characters as fully articulated childhood figures. Izuku wears his pale yellow T-shirt with a red "M" on the front, while Bakugo sports his classic skull-print tee. Standing approximately 3.3 inches tall, both figures feature finely sculpted proportions that capture their adorable childhood appearances. Aside from their shorts, the figures appear to share the same upper-body and shoe designs with different color schemes. Butterfly shoulder joints, double-jointed elbows and knees, and articulated toes provide plenty of flexibility for dynamic poses.
The set also comes loaded with accessories, including three interchangeable faces and five pairs of hands for each character, Heroes Chips, one All Might card for each boy, and an All Might mini figure. The extensive articulation and optional parts let collectors recreate Izuku's shock upon learning that he was Quirkless, scenes of Bakugo bullying Izuku, or the boys celebrating after pulling All Might cards. The set can also be displayed with the separately sold "S.H.Figuarts All Might," scheduled for release this month, to recreate the childhood friends gazing up at the hero they admire most.
