Mobile Suit Gundam 00V MG 1/100 Superbia GN-X Gunpla Announced with Newly Tooled Special-Ops Armor

BANDAI HOBBY, the plastic model brand operated by Japan’s BANDAI SPIRITS, has announced a new addition to its 1/100-scale Gundam model kit line, MG (Master Grade), known for its detailed parts separation, internal frames, and extensive articulation. The Superbia GN-X from the official side story "Mobile Suit Gundam 00V" is now in development, with a prototype displayed at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show. The kit is expected to be released exclusively through Premium Bandai at a later date.

The GNX-612T/AA Superbia GN-X is a specialized amphibious assault variant developed from the GN-XIII and primarily deployed by the independent peacekeeping force A-Laws for special operations. Incorporating new technology used by the Innovators, its performance approaches that of the next-generation GN-XIV developed during the same period. For missions at sea, it can be equipped with the Amphibious Assault Unit, an external system comprising a head-mounted sensor unit, arm-mounted weapon units, and a waist-mounted hover unit that allows the mobile suit to travel underwater. The Superbia GN-X itself carries waist-mounted large-caliber GN Vulcans and GN Claws, along with the GN Kunai—a multifunction weapon inspired by Gundam Exia’s armaments that combines a GN Sword, GN Beam Needle, and GN Vulcan.

The MG 1/100 Superbia GN-X is based on the previously released GN-XIII kit and retains the GN-X internal frame originally introduced in 2010. Numerous newly tooled parts and new molding colors recreate the Superbia GN-X’s distinct armor, while the displayed prototype also features an all-new GN Kunai. Collectors will undoubtedly be hoping for a model kit version of the Amphibious Assault Unit as well, though its massive size may make including it with the Superbia GN-X impractical.
