Released in 2015, Batman: Arkham Knight has found yet another new life in the hands of modders. A creator recently released ArkWeb, a PC mod that brings Marvel’s Spider-Man directly into Gotham City, allowing players to swing between its skyscrapers as Spider-Man instead of traversing the city as Batman.

Created by luki-1, the mod is currently available for free on GitHub. The creator’s demonstration footage shows Spider-Man moving at high speed through Arkham Knight’s dark, Gothic vision of Gotham, swinging above its streets and between its skyscrapers. The contrast between the two fictional worlds makes for a striking crossover.
ArkWeb is not simply a character-skin replacement. To run the mod, players must have the Steam versions of both Batman: Arkham Knight and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered installed on the same PC, with both games running simultaneously. Spider-Man Remastered operates as a hidden guest game, supplying Spider-Man’s movement and physics while Arkham Knight displays Gotham.
Because the project remains experimental, it still comes with several limitations. Moving quickly into an area that Arkham Knight has not fully loaded can temporarily create gaps in the collision data, allowing Spider-Man to pass through certain structures. When combat begins, control is automatically handed back to Arkham Knight. Batman remains hidden while his combat poses are mapped onto Spider-Man, meaning the mod cannot yet fully reproduce Marvel’s Spider-Man’s combat system.

Even so, seeing Spider-Man genuinely web-swing through Gotham makes ArkWeb a particularly unusual mod. More than 11 years after Arkham Knight’s original release, its community continues to extend the game’s life through fan-made projects—this time bringing two of Marvel and DC’s most iconic heroes together in an unexpected crossover.
