BANDAI has unveiled two new entries in its GUNDAM CROSS armor-up toy line based on "Mobile Suit Gundam." Prototypes of the Char Aznable & Char's Zaku II and Duo Maxwell & Gundam Deathscythe sets made their debut at the recent 64th All Japan Model and Hobby Show, with both releases scheduled for December 2026.

GUNDAM CROSS traces its roots back to the GUNDAM CLOTH toy line that became popular from the late 1980s into the 1990s. Inspired by BANDAI’s hit Saint Seiya Saint Cloth Series toys, the concept lets each pilot wear their Gundam’s armor like a Saint Cloth. The figures feature charming SD proportions, articulated limbs for posing and play, and an assortment of weapons and accessories. Revived for 2026, GUNDAM CROSS has been completely redesigned with modern engineering, sharper sculpted detail, and an updated armor attachment system.

Like the three previously revealed releases, the Char and Duo figures will stand approximately 3.5 inches (9 cm) tall. Each pilot sports a chibi recreation of his signature outfit, while attaching the individual armor pieces transforms the figures into SD versions of Char's Zaku II and Gundam Deathscythe. Parts of each mobile suit’s head can also be removed to reveal the pilot’s face underneath. The sets come armed with signature weapons including the Zaku Machine Gun and Beam Scythe.
