Japanese designer Yuta Sugahara is bringing his popular anousagi (あのうさぎ) character to the Taipei Toy Festival (TTF 2026) with two event exclusives: anousagi (TTF 2026 Ver.) and anousagi Jiangshi (TTF 2026 Ver.). Each figure is priced at NT$3,800. Along with debuting these new colorways, Sugahara will make his first-ever TTF appearance and meet fans in person at the Toy People booth (A98)!
The name “anousagi” (あのうさぎ) means “that rabbit” in Japanese. The character was inspired by the legend of William Tell shooting an apple from atop his son’s head. Sugahara gives the tale an absurd twist by planting the arrow squarely in the rabbit’s forehead. Paired with wide, round eyes and an innocent expression, the design blends storybook charm with offbeat dark humor—the defining appeal of anousagi.

For anousagi (TTF 2026 Ver.), the rabbit gets a bright and juicy “ketchup” color scheme. Its vivid red head, arms, and legs are paired with a yellow outfit, while the white face, rounded collar, and red-and-white stripes add plenty of contrast. An orange-yellow apple sits on top of its head, making the entire palette pop. Along with the familiar arrow-in-the-forehead look, the product photos reveal an alternate style featuring a yellow bandage—all while anousagi maintains that adorably unfazed expression!
Meanwhile, anousagi Jiangshi (TTF 2026 Ver.) wears a black hat and yellow talisman while holding both arms straight out and sticking out its tongue. The green outfit features yellow sleeves, a red collar, and a prominent “rabbit” character across the chest. This version also slips in a playful cosplay reference: even the forehead talisman reads “じばく,” meaning “self-destruct.” Fans who recognize the outfit have probably figured it out already—but don’t worry. Take this little guy home, and we guarantee it “will・not・self・destruct”!
Fans hoping to meet the creator should mark their calendars: Sugahara will appear daily from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. throughout TTF at the Toy People booth, A98. In addition to anousagi merchandise, visitors can take part in sketch and autograph sessions and snap photos with the artist. After previously sharing the character’s origin story in an interview with Toy People, Sugahara is now bringing anousagi to TTF in person. Stop by the booth to check out the latest releases and say hello!
