Acquired by Cirque du Soleil in 2017, performance art troupe Blue Man Group has been a worldwide sensation for more than four decades. In addition to touring its live stage show around the globe, the group has contributed original songs to Hollywood movies, including Blue Sky Studios’ 2005 animated feature "Robots" and the 20th Century Studios release "Space Chimps." Now, the story behind the group’s rise is set to become a movie of its own.

Industry insider Daniel Richtman recently reported exclusively on his Patreon page that Warner Bros. Pictures, newly acquired by Paramount Skydance, has begun developing a film centered on Blue Man Group. Rather than a concert film or interview-driven documentary, the project will be a narrative feature chronicling how the troupe came together. Richtman did not name any cast members, writers or directors, suggesting the film remains in the earliest stages of development with those positions yet to be filled.
