The seventh actor to play James Bond on the big screen has yet to be chosen, but a rumored contender has already emerged for the villain role. According to an exclusive report from British tabloid "The Sun," 29-year-old British actor Ewan Mitchell, who rose to prominence through the "Game of Thrones" prequel series "House of the Dragon," is reportedly high on the studio's wish list.

Bond villains have traditionally been played by established stars or familiar veteran actors, making Mitchell a far less experienced and recognizable choice. However, "The Sun" reported that Amazon MGM Studios is deliberately looking for a rising talent this time instead of another A-lister. The producers are also said to want a villain with a distinctive appearance, and Mitchell's sharply defined features could make him a strong fit.

The first movie of the new Bond era will be directed by "Dune" filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, with "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight writing the screenplay. Production is reportedly expected to begin in 2027 ahead of a November 2028 theatrical release. The story may explore Bond's origins, beginning with his service in the Royal Navy before he is recruited by MI6.
