Japanese model and figure maker Kotobukiya has revealed its latest release from the anime "Magic Knight Rayearth." The Hikaru Shidou 1/7 Scale Figure is scheduled to launch in May 2027.
Fourteen-year-old junior high school student Hikaru Shidou is cheerful, energetic, and able to get along with just about anyone, though she also has a stubborn streak. Her family runs a kendo dojo, so she has practiced swordsmanship since childhood and possesses exceptional athletic ability. During a field trip to Tokyo Tower, Hikaru, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji are unexpectedly summoned to the otherworldly realm of Cephiro, where they are charged with saving Princess Emeraude and the entire world. Under Clef’s guidance, Hikaru learns to wield fire magic. After completing the trials of the Magic Knights, she gains the power to fight alongside the fiery Mashin Rayearth.
The Hikaru Shidou 1/7 Scale Figure is based on her character design from the remake anime, depicting the new equipment she receives after arriving in Cephiro. Standing approximately 11.4 inches tall, the figure captures Hikaru in a dynamic pose as she swings a longsword forged from the legendary mineral Escudo. Her signature bright smile, uniform-inspired outfit, and lightweight armor have all been faithfully sculpted. Rich colors and gradient paintwork bring out the Rayearth-inspired detailing on the sword’s hilt, the shifting highlights across her hair, and the jewel-like decorations throughout her costume, faithfully recreating CLAMP’s distinctive character design.
The base uses painted translucent parts to create a mass of roaring flames, representing Hikaru’s fire-based magical abilities. The set also includes a matching-scale figure of the mysterious and adorable creature Mokona, complete with its round body and glossy red forehead jewel. Mokona comes with a dedicated base and can be displayed alongside Hikaru.
In addition, 1/7 scale figures of the series’ other two heroines, Umi Ryuuzaki and Fuu Hououji, are officially in development. Additional product details will be announced at a later date.
