With "Grand Theft Auto VI" nearing release, Rockstar Games has revealed more gameplay details about dual protagonists Jason and Lucia in a new interview with IGN. But one moment from the demo quickly overshadowed everything else: Jason appearing naked in the shower, prompting players and gaming outlets alike to investigate whether the game will feature full-frontal male nudity.

According to IGN reporter Rachel Weber, Rockstar Games head of development Rob Nelson was demonstrating the character-switching mechanic when he jumped from Lucia’s perspective to Jason’s—only to find the male lead taking a shower.
IGN reported that when Nelson switched to Jason’s point of view, the protagonist was naked.
Kotaku asked one of Weber’s former colleagues to contact her, but learned she was on vacation. After Rockstar Games did not respond to a request for comment, the outlet turned to Kinda Funny host Greg Miller, who had also attended a preview. Miller said he saw a different version of the demo that did not include a naked Jason.
Weber later addressed the burning question online:

The ESRB rating for "Grand Theft Auto VI" lists nudity and strong sexual content, while Australia’s classification specifically mentions sex scenes. However, there is currently no evidence that any sexual sequences will be interactive. The Grand Theft Auto franchise previously sparked controversy over the hidden Hot Coffee sex minigame in "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas."
Beyond the nude scene, Nelson also discussed how the game handles intimacy between Jason and Lucia. He explained that physical contact is an important part of a romantic relationship, making its portrayal a key consideration for the development team.
Nelson said the feature went through the same process as every other part of the game, with the team repeatedly testing and refining it until they found the right approach.
"Grand Theft Auto VI" features a dedicated relationship system that allows players to bring Jason and Lucia closer through activities such as canoeing, playing mini-golf or even robbing stores together. Nelson said that however players choose to have the pair spend time together, those experiences will positively affect their bond.
Players can build that connection through shared activities, but they can also choose to keep Jason and Lucia strictly as partners in crime.
Nelson stressed that Rockstar Games does not want to force a romance on players. Developing their relationship will not provide specific gameplay advantages, but the way players manage their bond will affect how the story unfolds.
"Grand Theft Auto VI" launches November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
