Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO HG 1/144 GOUF Ignited Custom Debuts With a Heavily Armed New Look

BANDAI HOBBY, the plastic model brand operated by Japan’s BANDAI SPIRITS, has announced the latest addition to its extensive 1/144-scale Gunpla HG (High Grade) line: the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO kit HG 1/144 GOUF Ignited Custom. Priced at 3,190 yen including tax, the model is scheduled for release in April 2027.

The ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited was originally developed as a candidate for ZAFT’s next-generation mass-production mobile suit. Although practical concerns such as production costs ultimately saw it lose out to the ZAKU Warrior series, development continued thanks to the machine’s exceptional performance. It was eventually fielded as a specialized unit for high-ranking commanders and ace pilots. The new HG 1/144 GOUF Ignited Custom reuses select parts from the updated HG 1/144 GOUF Ignited (Heine Westenfluss Custom), but features redesigned forearms, shoulder armor, lower legs, head crest, and flight pack. These changes give the mobile suit a tougher, more heavily armored silhouette. Its arsenal retains the MMI-558 “Tempest” Beam Sword, which switches between physical sword and beam sword configurations, along with the MA-M757 “Slayer Whip.” The shield has also been slightly redesigned and fitted with a massive Gatling-style weapon.
