BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS has revealed the latest release in its popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line: "ONE PIECE"’s "S.H.Figuarts Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) - Battle of Marineford -" action figure. Priced at 28,600 yen including tax, the figure is scheduled for release in June 2027!
Known as "Whitebeard," Edward Newgate was a legendary pirate from the same era as Pirate King Roger. A Paramecia-type Tremor-Tremor Fruit user and one of the Four Emperors, he commanded a massive crew along with numerous allied pirate crews under his protection. His crewmates called him Pops, and Whitebeard loved them as if they were his own sons. During the Paramount War Arc, he led his forces into Marine Headquarters at Marineford to rescue his Second Division Commander, "Fire Fist" Portgas D. Ace. Although the rescue ended in tragedy, Whitebeard continued fighting until the Blackbeard Pirates surrounded and killed him. His Tremor-Tremor Fruit power was then stolen by Marshall D. Teach.
Standing approximately 9.6 inches tall, "S.H.Figuarts Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) - Battle of Marineford -" carries a hefty 28,600-yen price tag, making it the most expensive release in S.H.Figuarts history. Fortunately, its sculpt and accessory loadout are appropriately ambitious. Whitebeard has been rendered with a more realistic aesthetic, featuring finely sculpted clothing folds, muscular contours, and the scars across his chest. The detail is so striking that collectors may wonder, "Is this really part of the same Marineford lineup?" His coat is made from real fabric, complete with a faithfully recreated inner pattern and embedded wires for customizable posing.
The deluxe accessory package includes five interchangeable face plates and four pairs of interchangeable hands. Whitebeard also comes with Tremor-Tremor Fruit effects for shattering space, with one for each hand; space-rending effects for both hands; a separate Tremor-Tremor Fruit effect for his left hand; and his signature Supreme Grade Blade, Murakumogiri. Display him alongside Akainu, Ace, Marco, and other figures from the line to recreate the "World’s Strongest Pirate" shaking Marine Headquarters to its foundations! The set also includes another interchangeable Luffy face, designed for use with "S.H.Figuarts MONKEY.D.LUFFY -MARINEFORD-".
