Max Factory’s popular model kit line "PLAMAX", known for tackling an exceptionally diverse range of subjects, has announced its latest release from the classic anime series "Aura Battler Dunbine." The "Gitol" model kit is scheduled for release in May 2027.

The "Gitol" is an Aura Battler that never appeared in the original anime. Introduced in the "AURA FHANTASM" feature published in the model magazine "B-CLUB," it was conceived by mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi as an enhanced prototype based on the Virunvee. Building on the Virunvee’s fin-like head design, the Gitol features fin-shaped shoulder armor, skeletal hip plating, and even a streamlined Aura Sword. Its design leans even further into aquatic-creature aesthetics than the anime’s original mecha, while also conveying its in-universe construction from giant beast materials.

For the "PLAMAX Gitol", sculptor Genzo Ihara teamed up with Max Factory to recreate the original design artwork as a fixed-pose model standing approximately 6.7 inches tall. Intricate details include the elaborate head and hip armor, wings with realistic vein patterns, muscle fiber-like joints, the shell-like internal structure of the Aura Converters, and trunk-like protrusions extending from the back. The kit builds on the techniques developed for the previous Sirbine and Bellvine releases.

As with those earlier kits, however, the parts are molded in a single color. This release is recommended for experienced modelers comfortable with seam removal and painting, allowing builders to fully enjoy both the assembly and finishing process.
