Last Friday, Marvel Television announced at New York Comic Con that it is developing an international espionage series titled "Zodiac." Production is expected to begin in London in early 2027, with a 2028 premiere planned. Beyond that, Marvel revealed little about the project. Still, many fans have speculated that "Zodiac" could actually be a continuation of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." The theory stems from the eagle-like shape hidden inside the A in the show’s logo, which resembles the S.H.I.E.L.D. emblem, as well as Clark Gregg sharing the official announcement. Gregg played Agent Coulson in the long-running series.

However, Knight Edge Media recently reported that "Zodiac" is not exactly a sequel to "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Instead, the series is said to be a grounded, dark espionage thriller primarily set in the U.K., with a tone similar to "The Americans." Its three leads—two men and one woman—will reportedly be entirely original British characters rather than figures drawn from Marvel Comics. If the report proves accurate, any returning "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." cast members would likely appear only in cameos or supporting guest roles.
