BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS collectibles division is adding another Kamen Rider Kuuga release to its S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou lineup. The new Kamen Rider Kuuga Growing Form Kamen Rider 55th Anniversary Ver. action figure is priced at 8,800 yen and is scheduled for release in March 2027.
Premiering in 2000, "Kamen Rider Kuuga" launched the Heisei Kamen Rider Series. The story begins when an ancient, mysterious belt is unearthed at an archaeological site, awakening the monstrous Gurongi and unleashing their attacks across Nagano. Adventurer Yusuke Godai witnesses the crisis at a local police station and, trusting his instincts, puts on the belt being held by the authorities. He transforms into the warrior Kuuga and begins fighting to protect everyone’s smiles. Growing Form first appears in Episode 1, when Yusuke transforms for the first time before he is mentally prepared for battle, resulting in an incomplete form.
Standing approximately 5.7 inches tall, the new Kamen Rider Kuuga Growing Form Kamen Rider 55th Anniversary Ver. is based on the 2021 release. It retains the Shinkocchou Seihou sculpt, which builds the figure outward from its underlying skeletal structure to faithfully capture the suit’s on-screen proportions. The colors have been reworked to more closely match the series. The previous pearl-white finish on the chest armor, shoulder armor, and forearms has been replaced with a cleaner white that better reflects the suit’s appearance on screen. Kuuga’s compound eyes and the Amadam spirit stone at the center of the Arcle transformation belt also feature a brighter, more intensely orange color.
In addition to the four pairs of interchangeable hands included with the previous release, the figure comes with replacement ankle-ring parts inspired by Episode 19, "Artifact." These recreate the red glow seen during the final strike of Kuuga’s three consecutive Rider Kicks against the mushroom monster. Combined with the figure’s flexible articulation, collectors can recreate Kuuga’s dramatic return from the brink of death as he charges back into battle. The figure can also be displayed alongside the Mighty Form, Dragon Form, Pegasus Form, and Titan Form Kamen Rider 55th Anniversary editions announced at the same time, bringing Kuuga’s complete lineup of iconic forms together.
