WWE superstar Cody Rhodes has been steadily expanding his acting career, appearing in the comedy "The Naked Gun" before joining the new live-action "Street Fighter" movie. He is currently making the press rounds for the latter, but Rhodes may have accidentally revealed his next major franchise role during one interview — and it appears to be the same project he previously teased publicly.

During a recent Nerdist interview with several of his "Street Fighter" co-stars, Rhodes was asked which games or franchises he had obsessed over while growing up. He immediately blurted out, “I’m an X-Men. I nerd out about X-Men. I nerd out about anything Patrick Stewart is in.” Andrew Schulz, who plays Dan Hibiki in "Street Fighter," looked stunned and asked, “Wait a minute — what did you just announce?”

The interviewer then sought clarification, asking, “He did say X-Men, right?” Rhodes responded to Schulz, “What? She asked what I nerded out about.” Schulz finally replied, “Sorry, I thought you just announced something big,” before laughing.

Although Schulz ultimately assumed he had misheard him, Rhodes’ unusual wording immediately raised eyebrows online, with many viewers convinced the wrestler had accidentally let a casting announcement slip. The speculation intensified because Rhodes previously shared a photo from a visit to Marvel Studios, prompting fans to wonder whether he was discussing a potential role with the company. Now, more fans are campaigning for him to play one of two iconic "X-Men" characters who closely match his imposing physique: Colossus or Cable. Some even suspect he may have already landed one of the roles.
