With Grand Theft Auto VI set to launch on November 19, 2026, Sony has begun sending notifications to PS5 players warning that Grand Theft Auto V will leave the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on November 17, just two days before the new game arrives. Subscribers who have yet to play the blockbuster—or want one last trip through Los Santos—will need to act fast.

According to a system notification shared by players, Sony wrote, "If you’re counting down the days until Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PS5 on November 19, why not take a trip to Los Santos in the meantime?" The message added that Grand Theft Auto V is currently available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members, but only through November 17.
The notice continued, "Whether you’ve yet to experience the tale of Franklin, Michael, and Trevor, or want to revisit it before Jason and Lucia’s Vice City story begins, now’s the time." It also includes a Grand Theft Auto VI preorder prompt, directly tying the older game’s departure from the subscription service to the sequel’s launch campaign.

Since its 2013 debut, Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than 230 million units worldwide, with new players continuing to discover the game through subscription services. Once it leaves the catalog, Extra and Premium members who have not purchased the game separately will lose access to both Grand Theft Auto V and its online mode through PS Plus.
Meanwhile, Rockstar Games has launched a sprawling Grand Theft Auto VI marketing campaign across Miami, including advertising on the Goodyear Blimp and a partnership with the NBA’s Miami Heat. The promotional push has drawn concerns from some local officials.
