PLEX (PLEX Co., Ltd.) is bringing another fan-favorite Toho creation to its Toho Maniacs lineup with the Godzilla Tower Renewal Color Ver. Soft Vinyl figure, based on the landmark from the 1972 film "Godzilla vs. Gigan." Priced at 9,900 yen, the figure is scheduled for release in January 2027.
In the movie, Godzilla Tower was built as the centerpiece of World Children's Land, an amusement park under construction outside Tokyo. Designed as an observation tower resembling Godzilla and standing as tall as the Showa-era King of the Monsters, the structure allowed visitors to ride an elevator all the way up to its head. World Children's Land, however, was secretly an invasion base operated by aliens from M Space Hunter Nebula, with equipment for controlling Gigan and King Ghidorah hidden inside the tower's head.
With "Godzilla vs. Gigan" celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2027, Godzilla Tower is returning in an all-new color scheme. Measuring approximately 17 cm tall and 18 cm long, the figure reuses the original sculpt released in early 2024, faithfully capturing the building's simple, playful architecture. Inspired by the tower looming against the night sky, this edition gives the Godzilla-shaped structure a new blue-green color palette.
The elevator section uses metallic paint over clear Soft Vinyl to recreate the look of its exposed steel framework, while the balloon extending toward the head is faithfully reproduced with metal wire. The deeper, more saturated colors give this release a bolder presence than the original, making it another great opportunity for collectors who missed the first version.
