Polish game developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed that its all-new original IP, "Project Hadar," has completed the world-vision stage, with the team now beginning to turn those ideas into an actual game. However, the company stressed that the project has not yet entered pre-production, meaning its eventual release remains a long way off.

Speaking with Polish Press Agency business service PAP Biznes, CD Projekt RED co-CEO Michał Nowakowski said, "This has been our biggest undertaking to date, taking us several years, but at this point we can say we have a coherent vision for this world and its key elements. The team has started working on the game, although it is still not yet in pre-production."
Unlike "The Witcher" and "Cyberpunk," which originated from existing novels and tabletop role-playing games, "Project Hadar" will introduce an entirely new world created by CD Projekt RED. The company revealed in September 2026 that more than 30 developers were working on the project, with plans to grow the team to as many as 50 by the end of the year.

A previous job listing for an engineering director also described the goal as creating an emotional, immersive open-world experience, suggesting the new title will remain firmly rooted in the large-scale RPG territory the studio knows best.
CD Projekt RED has yet to reveal the setting, characters or release window for "Project Hadar." The studio is simultaneously developing several major projects, including "The Witcher 4" and "Cyberpunk 2," the sequel to "Cyberpunk 2077." It also aims to release all three entries in its new "The Witcher" trilogy within six years of the first game’s launch.
With CD Projekt RED’s development resources and release slate already packed, it remains unclear when Hadar will advance into full production.
