LEGO Ideas, the fan-powered design platform from Danish brickmaker LEGO, recently welcomed a project guaranteed to turn the heads of cat lovers. Designed by builder DMWM, “Stack of Cats” uses roughly 1,700 LEGO pieces to create six adorable cats piled on top of one another. Each feline features its own coat pattern and expression, with faces that seem to stare back as if an entire household of cats had gathered to judge their human. The project reached 10,000 supporters on September 9, 2026, officially qualifying for LEGO Ideas review.

LEGO Ideas has previously turned fan-designed feline models into retail sets, including the “21349 Tuxedo Cat” and its follow-up, the “21376 Orange Cat.” DMWM took an even more ambitious approach this time: If one cat is not enough, why not stack six of them together? Every layer offers a different expression, creating a playful brick-built cat tower made for feline-obsessed collectors.

The project’s biggest charm comes from how the six cats retain their individual personalities despite being packed tightly together. DMWM uses bricks in different colors and shapes to define each cat’s face and body, while the carefully arranged eyes, noses, and mouths give them remarkably convincing expressions. Some look sweet and innocent, while others appear to have very strong opinions about their humans. Their proportions have also been thoughtfully adjusted so every cat remains clearly recognizable within the stacked design.

“Stack of Cats” has now cleared the 10,000-supporter threshold required by LEGO Ideas and entered the third 2026 review round. That does not guarantee it will become an official set, however, and fans will need to wait for LEGO to announce the review results. If it eventually reaches shelves, cat lovers could bring home an entire tower of felines that will not run around or knock things over—but will still stare at them just as intensely.
