Game creator Hideo Kojima will make a cameo in "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2," arriving on Netflix on October 20, 2026. Reprising his "Cyberpunk 2077" role as Hideyoshi Oshima, Kojima will bring the braindance director from the game into the animated series.

The official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners X account recently shared the cameo announcement.

During an early mission in "Cyberpunk 2077," V and Jackie infiltrate Konpeki Plaza to steal a biochip from Arasaka. Players can encounter Hideyoshi Oshima during the operation, though officials have yet to reveal how large a role he will play in the anime.
Following the announcement, CD Projekt RED co-CEO Michał Nowakowski said it was always a pleasure to work with Hideo Kojima.
Kojima previously revealed on his radio show "KOJI10" that he had been invited to make cameos in several projects. "One is a big live-action movie and the other is a major anime title," he said. Discussing his acting preferences, Kojima added, "I don't like playing myself. I'd rather play a detective or something." The latest announcement confirms the anime project he previously teased.
Produced by CD Projekt RED and TRIGGER, "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2" is a 10-episode standalone story featuring an all-new cast of characters and a tale of revenge and redemption set in Night City.
