BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible division has officially revealed the latest release in its popular "S.H.Figuarts" action figure line: "Ultraman Hikari" from the live-action series "Ultraman Mebius." The figure is scheduled for release in May 2027.
Ultraman Hikari was once a brilliant researcher in the Land of Light's Space Science Technology Bureau. Although his Life Solidification Technology benefited countless lives and earned him a promotion to bureau chief, it also sparked conflicts in several regions. Wracked with guilt, Hikari embarked on a self-imposed exile. His journey eventually brought him to the beautiful Planet Arb, where he passed a trial set by Ultraman King and received the Knight Brace. When he ultimately failed to prevent the planet's destruction, his guilt, grief, and rage—combined with the lingering resentment of Arb—transformed him into the vengeance-driven warrior known as "Hunter Knight Tsurugi."
Created with assistance from Tsuburaya Productions' LSS sculpting department, the "S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Hikari" action figure faithfully recreates his on-screen appearance at approximately 5.9 inches tall. Its sculpt differs throughout from the previously released "S.H.Figuarts Hunter Knight Tsurugi," revealing Hikari's heroic face beneath the armor along with his chest-mounted Color Timer, medals, and the distinctive markings of a Blue Tribe Ultra.
To capture Hikari's dynamic fighting style, the figure uses pull-out joints at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and several other areas to significantly expand its range of motion. The shoulder armor is also independently articulated, reducing interference when posing the shoulder joints. The included Knight Shoot effect recreates his signature cross-armed firing pose, while the Knight Beam Blade effect attaches to his right wrist for sword-fighting displays. Collectors can also swap in a right forearm without the Knight Brace to recreate Hikari before he completed Ultraman King's trial.
The set also includes dedicated hands for holding the Giga Battlenizer. Pair them with the weapon included with the separately sold "S.H.Figuarts Kaiser Belial" to recreate scenes from "Ultraman Mebius Side Story: Ghost Reverse STAGE II: The Emperor's Resurrection."
