Chinese model kit maker MJZ STUDIO has unveiled the Xiaoyaozi Liangyi model kit, inspired by the wuxia novel "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils." This new edition outfits the immortal cultivator mecha Xiaoyaozi with black-and-white armor symbolizing Yin and Yang. Builders can mix and match the two colors and convert the kit into a four-arm immortal form. Priced at 9,900 yen including tax, the model is scheduled for release in February 2027.
Xiaoyaozi blends Chinese wuxia and Taoist cultivation themes with mechanical design. Its head sports a conical hat decorated with a Taiji emblem, while layered Chinese-inspired armor covers the body. The new Liangyi edition adds nine runners of pre-painted black-and-white armor parts, allowing builders to create a unified color scheme or mix both colors for an interwoven Yin-Yang look. Combined with the original gold accents, the new parts give this immortal mecha even more display options.
The model uses a preassembled inner frame made from alloy and POM. In addition to its standard two-arm configuration, interchangeable parts allow it to transform into a four-arm form. The included Taiyi Mechanism Gourd unfolds into a sword case that stores the four immortal swords known as Heaven, Earth, Man, and God. Those four blades can also combine to form Dao. Another four-sword set representing Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning is included, letting Xiaoyaozi command multiple flying swords at once and strike poses straight out of a cultivation fantasy novel.
Beyond its extensive weapon options, the set comes with a lotus display base with two configurations and a Chinese-style folding-screen backdrop. Builders can display the four-arm mecha surrounded by flying swords atop the lotus base or use the folding screen to create a classical Chinese setting. From the mechanical inner frame and Yin-Yang armor to its sword-riding concept, every element comes together in one elaborate immortal cultivator mecha—and apparently, mastering martial arts is only half the job when your arsenal is this extensive.
