Japanese toy company Kenelephant is bringing the hit picture book series "Bread Thief" to life with its latest collectible, the “Bread Thief Piggy Bank: Onigiri Boy Ver.” Priced at 3,300 yen, the piggy bank is scheduled for release in April 2027.
The “Bread Thief Piggy Bank: Onigiri Boy Ver.” stars Onigiri Boy, the owner of the rice ball shop from "Bread Thief." Standing approximately 13 cm tall, the figure faithfully captures his charming picture-book design, from the rice ball’s glossy finish and grainy texture to the shiny sheet of nori wrapped around it. Viewed from behind, he looks like an ordinary rice ball—but turn him around, and that hilariously over-it expression makes the figure both adorable and laugh-out-loud funny. It looks as though Onigiri Boy jumped straight off the cover of the book.
