The latest installment in the Watch Dogs series, Watch Dogs: Legion, developed by [[ID_3710]], is set to release on October 29, 2020. Toy People was delighted to be invited by [[ID_3710]] to a media preview event, giving us the opportunity to experience Watch Dogs: Legion firsthand. Let's share our experience right away!
(The following preview content is from a DEMO version and may differ from the final release.)
The third title in the series, Watch Dogs: Legion, is set in the near-future after the events of Watch Dogs 2. People's privacy is completely exposed under government surveillance, and a series of bombings have plunged London into disorder and decay. The government has hired the private military organization Albion to replace the police and maintain order, but this has led to more brutality and abuse of power. The hacker group DedSec is framed as the mastermind behind the bombings and faces a major crisis. Players will take on the role of 'anyone' from DedSec to rebuild the organization, restore its reputation, and investigate 'Zero-Day,' the organization closely linked to the truth behind the bombings.
▼ In the prologue at the start of the DEMO, players assume the role of a DedSec operative infiltrating to investigate the bombings. After basic combat and hacking tutorials, they reach the depths, only to discover it's a conspiracy targeting DedSec...

The story is set in near-future London, where modern cityscapes are integrated with a wealth of high-tech products, such as 3D holographic projections, delivery drones, and innovative vehicle designs. However, with the private military organization Albion now maintaining order instead of the police, Albion personnel and patrol vehicles are frequently seen traversing the streets. They even set up checkpoints at intersections to restrict player movement, and if a crime is accidentally discovered, they can be even more formidable than the police.

The biggest feature of this game is the ability to 'recruit anyone to join DedSec and become a resistance member.' Regardless of age or profession, even an elderly grandma can be a character you play. Cutscenes will also change models and voice acting based on the character currently in use. The random generation ensures that each save file's character database is unique; not only professions and income, but also background, schedules, and movement paths can be thoroughly uncovered through hacking.

▼ During missions, AR reconstruction of crime scenes, familiar to The Division players, also appears.

Each character's equipment and skills are unique, allowing players to choose the most suitable character during mission investigations to make the process easier. For example, the player's default DedSec member can summon a small Spiderbot, capable of crawling into narrow gaps to perform remote hacks. Similarly, choosing a construction worker to enter a restricted construction site will not attract enemy attention unless suspicious actions are taken, even if you wander around. Of course, opting for a direct physical confrontation or hacking drones for your own use are also viable choices, offering a wide variety of strategic approaches.

▼ After hacking a large drone, characters can ride it to travel freely across London's skies!

However, it's important to note that if a character is incapacitated, they might be arrested or die on the spot. While arrested characters can sometimes be rescued, death is permanent, meaning you'll have to recruit and develop a new operative if you're not careful.
This concludes our experience and impressions of Watch Dogs: Legion. We once again thank [[ID_3710]] for the invitation. Due to the very early stage of the game's development and time constraints on the day, we regret not being able to showcase more game content. However, the game will be released in just three months, so we encourage everyone to purchase it then and experience it for yourselves!
