Following the highly popular EVA Unit-01 and EVA Unit-02 releases in 2019, BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division's TAMASHII NATIONS has finally announced new details for its acclaimed "METAL BUILD" series of alloy toys, revealing a new Evangelion unit after nearly two years.
The official announcement confirms that a new METAL BUILD "Evangelion" project is currently in development, accompanied by a single silhouette image. Based on the distinctive yellow and white color scheme, along with the head and shoulder characteristics visible in the silhouette, the next release is undoubtedly the long-awaited "EVA Unit-00". Fans will need to await further details from Bandai in the future.
The "METAL BUILD EVANGELION" series is designed by Ikuto Yamashita, offering a distinct aesthetic from previous EVA iterations. Conceived as "giants with steel muscles" and integrated with METAL BUILD's signature features, these figures boast human-like proportions. Numerous joints, including elbows, hips, and knees, are crafted from alloy materials. Coupled with intricate metallic paint applications, the overall frame and musculature showcase a complex, mechanical texture composed of various metals, radically departing from the original series' portrayal of EVAs as organic "artificial humans." The series has garnered widespread praise for its exceptional alloy articulation, weapon-like armor designs, and innovative new armaments.
