Bandai's GASHAPON division has just unveiled the digital prototype for the latest addition to its popular MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE capsule toy series. Known for its interchangeable joint system and endless customization possibilities, the line is set to welcome the iconic "Crossbone Gundam" from the "Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam" manga series!
The Crossbone Gundam series mobile suits were secretly developed by S.N.R.I. and later transferred to the space pirates known as the Crossbone Vanguard. These prototype units feature a core fighter system with X-shaped movable thrusters, allowing them to adapt to the high-gravity environment around Jupiter. They are equipped with a suite of experimental weaponry, including the Zanbuster, ABC Cloak, and Brand Markers (which double as beam shields). Despite their skull-adorned appearance, which serves as a disguise, these units are part of the Formula Project, carrying the development code "F97." Like the Gundam F91, they boast a Bio-Computer and a "Face Open" heat dissipation mechanism.
The current prototype for the MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE Crossbone Gundam is shown equipped with its iconic ABC Cloak. It features numerous expansion ports on its side skirts and outer knees, suggesting future armament options. The skull motifs on the head and chest may be adjusted to accommodate variations like the X0, X1, X2, and X3 units, indicating potential parts-sharing across different versions. The specific release wave for this figure is yet to be determined, with full product details to be announced at a later date.
