BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division has officially announced the upcoming release of the "S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Trigger Multi Type" from Tsuburaya Productions' special effects series "Ultraman Trigger." Pre-orders for this highly anticipated action figure are set to open on July 16th.
"Ultraman Trigger: NEW GENERATION TIGA" serves as a spiritual successor to "Ultraman Tiga," revisiting the theme of "the legend of the ancient giant of light" after many years. It carries over familiar elements such as "the giant of light from thirty million years ago," "the conflict between light and darkness," and "the ability to transform into three forms initially," bringing a new Reiwa-era Tiga.
The story begins thirty million years ago, when the world was engulfed by terrifying darkness. Fortunately, with the help of a giant of light, the darkness was sealed away in a distant corner of the universe, but the giant exhausted its power and fell into a long slumber. Eons later, Earth's prolonged peace comes to an end as the reawakened darkness unleashes monsters upon humanity. Amidst this crisis, botanist Kengo Manaka, who lives on Mars, merges with the power of light, destined to become the legendary giant, "Ultraman Trigger."
This S.H.Figuarts release features Ultraman Trigger's initial appearance, the balanced Multi Type. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, the overall design was supervised by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department. It faithfully recreates intricate details such as the geometric golden patterns across the body, and the distinctive red, blue, and silver coloration. The head sculpt boasts sharp, heroic lines, while the forehead and eyes utilize clear parts to replicate a translucent effect. The chest timer is also interchangeable with a flashing red light version.
For articulation, both the shoulder and hip joints incorporate pull-out mechanisms, extending the pivot points to enhance the range of motion. This allows for more natural poses, such as arms raised horizontally, deep squats, and dynamic kicks. Combined with various interchangeable hand parts, collectors can recreate Ultraman Trigger's cool battle stances from the show. However, beam effect parts are not included with this release. Based on Bandai's past sales strategies, these effects are likely to be bundled with future S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Trigger series products.
