Japanese model kit manufacturer FUJIMI is collaborating with the hugely popular "Evangelion" series for its "Jiyu Kenkyu" (Free Research) assembly model line. Scheduled for release in October 2021, two new products will combine the general-purpose humanoid decisive weapon Evangelion's iconic color schemes: the "American Crayfish Unit-01 Specification" and the "American Crayfish Unit-02 Specification," each priced at 5,280 JPY (tax included).
The "American Crayfish Unit-01 Specification" and "American Crayfish Unit-02 Specification" are based on the previously released and popular "Jiyu Kenkyu 24 Creature Edition American Crayfish." These highly realistic models boast a total length of 23 cm, with parts meticulously recreating the rough spikes on the crayfish's carapace. Both claws, the 2nd to 5th thoracic legs, abdomen, and tail feature articulated joints. Furthermore, excellent color and part separation are achieved for each carapace segment, antennae, and eyes, allowing for snap-fit assembly without the need for glue!
For these special collaboration items, the molded plastic colors have been swapped to match Unit-01's signature purple and green, and Unit-02's vibrant orange and red. Even the eye parts correspond to the respective EVA units' colors, transforming the American crayfish into an "aquatic crayfish-type decisive weapon" with an incredibly fierce and battle-ready appearance!
