Asmus Toys, the Taiwan-based toy design company, today (August 21st) officially revealed their latest creation from the 1987 horror classic "The Evil Dead": a new Ash Williams 1/6 scale collectible figure! Both a Standard and Deluxe Version will be released simultaneously, with an estimated shipping date of November 2021.
In the story of "The Evil Dead," young couple Ash and Linda planned a romantic night in a secluded cabin. However, Ash accidentally discovered a tape recorder and played incantations from the "Necronomicon" (also known as "The Book of the Dead"), unleashing malevolent spirits. Ash is then forced to kill Linda, endures a relentless barrage of demonic attacks, and his right hand becomes possessed, constantly turning against him. With no other choice, Ash severs his own possessed hand and, along with four others who later arrive at the cabin, battles the demonic entities...
This "1/6 Scale Ash Williams" figure from Asmus Toys stands approximately 31.5 cm tall and boasts 32 points of articulation, meticulously recreating Bruce Campbell's youthful facial contours and expressive demeanor. His thick black hair and the bloodstains on his face are expertly rendered, while the tailored light blue long-sleeved shirt features realistic sweat and grime, perfectly capturing Ash's fierce battle against the Deadites in the film. Accessories include his signature chainsaw, the iconic sawed-off shotgun, the Kandarian Dagger, a possessed demonic hand, a bandaged hand stump, and the Book of the Dead.
The Deluxe Version adds even more gruesome detail, including a Deadite Ash head sculpt and a Deadite Linda head sculpt (Linda's head sculpt is still unrevealed). It also comes with a tabletop vise to clamp Linda's head, a battle-damaged long-sleeved shirt, a seamless left arm replacement, a roughly 10 cm tall Deadite creature accessory, and a diorama base designed to hide the Deadite beneath a basement door. This edition is truly packed with value!
