PLEX Co., Ltd. of Japan is set to release a new addition to their large-scale "Wonder Figure" (ワンダーフィギュア) series: a massive 55cm statue featuring the popular character Wonder Figure Saitama from "One-Punch Man"! This impressive piece is priced at 93,500 JPY and is currently available for pre-order on the Premium Bandai website, with an estimated release in January 2022.
Originally created by author ONE as a webcomic to practice manga software, "One-Punch Man" drew inspiration from "Anpanman". Despite its rough artwork, the series quickly exploded in popularity across the Japanese internet due to its humorous, satirical premise and compelling storyline. It later received a highly polished remake in collaboration with manga artist Yusuke Murata. The protagonist, Saitama, is a self-proclaimed "hero for fun" who, after rigorous training and sacrificing his hair, gained the overwhelming power to defeat any foe with a single punch, quietly performing heroic deeds without recognition.
Standing at an imposing 55cm tall, the "Wonder Figure Saitama" statue captures Saitama in a powerful, forward-lunging pose, delivering his iconic "Serious Punch." The base features heavily damaged metal machinery, complete with intricate wiring and explosive effects. Integrated LED lighting further enhances the battle-damaged, burning atmosphere.
