Kotobukiya, the Japanese toy company renowned for its "ARTFX J" series of exquisitely sculpted anime and game characters, has finally opened pre-orders for its latest release: the "ARTFX J Shinobu Kocho 1/8 Scale Figure"! Following the popular Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, and Kyojuro Rengoku, this new figure is priced at 14,850 JPY and is slated for a January 2022 release.
From the hit series "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" comes the highly popular female character, the Insect Hashira, "Shinobu Kocho" (胡蝶しのぶ). Possessing immense strength and a delicate beauty, Shinobu is one of the nine Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. She developed her own unique Insect Breathing style and is a master of medicine and pharmacology, serving as the owner of the Demon Slayer Corps' medical facility, the Butterfly Estate. Despite always wearing a gentle smile and claiming she wishes to coexist peacefully with demons, she secretly harbors deep anger and hatred towards them.
The "ARTFX J Shinobu Kocho" 1/8 scale pre-painted figure stands approximately 25 cm tall, dynamically capturing Shinobu in a light, dancing pose with her Nichirin Blade. Her slender and agile physique is accentuated by her flowing Haori, which billows gracefully like butterfly wings. The intricate net pattern and delicate gradient from light green to pink on her Haori enhance her elegant, dancing charm. The figure is supported by a clear base featuring butterfly effects, perfectly embodying the graceful yet mysterious aura of her "Insect Breathing" technique. Her subtle smile, paired with her unique, slender thrusting Nichirin Blade, hints at the hidden killing intent beneath her calm demeanor.
