Kotobukiya, the Japanese toy company, is finally releasing the highly anticipated "X Second Armor (ロックマンX セカンドアーマー)" as the tenth commemorative entry in their popular "Mega Man X" 1/12 scale model kit series! This follows impressive releases like "X," "X Ultimate Armor," "X Rising Fire Ver.," and "X Fourth Armor - Force Armor." The kit is priced at 6,800 JPY and is slated for release in December 2021.
The "X Second Armor" 1/12 scale model kit stands approximately 137mm tall. Its design faithfully recreates X's first armor upgrade from "Mega Man X2," the "Second Armor" (セカンドアーマー), which grants him additional offensive capabilities. Thanks to the finely segmented armor parts, collectors can accurately reproduce the in-game colors upon assembly. This release is particularly significant as it marks the very first model kit commercialization of the Second Armor in over 25 years!
Utilizing Kotobukiya's signature CAD modeling technology, the kit meticulously pursues the in-game proportions and features precise articulation, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. It includes three newly sculpted interchangeable face parts: a standard front-facing expression, a roaring expression with downward-gazing eyes, and a single-eye-closed expression to depict damage. Naturally, interchangeable arm cannon parts for executing the Double Charge Shot are also included!
As a bonus, the kit comes with "Zero Buster" parts, designed to be assembled with Zero, allowing fans to recreate Zero's appearance from "Mega Man X2."
The parts are compatible with the previously released "X" model kit, offering extensive customization options. This cross-compatibility allows collectors to create various battle styles and even replicate X's different armor acquisition states from the game. Furthermore, a 3mm port on the back is compatible with Kotobukiya's M.S.G New Flying Base and New Flying Base Plus display stands, enabling dynamic aerial poses from the game!
