BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division has announced the latest addition to its articulated action figure line, ROBOT魂 (ROBOT Damashii), from the manga "Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam GHOST": the "Ghost Gundam," slated for release in January 2022.
The XM-XX Ghost Gundam is a unit heavily damaged after the Phantom Gundam intercepted a nuclear missile. It was then rebuilt using spare parts from the Crossbone Gundam X-0, X-1, and X-2. Its entire armor is coated with a silver rare metal, providing functions such as beam and physical projectile reactive armor. This coating also makes the armor lighter and improves cooling efficiency. A row of forced cooling barrels has been added to the backpack, extending the activation time of its "Ghost Light" and enhancing the cruising performance of its "Mirage Wazo" flight mode. At maximum output, the Ghost Gundam can unleash irregularly-trajectory beam cannons from its auxiliary thrusters and heat vents across its entire body, though this places a severe burden on the mobile suit.
The "ROBOT魂 Ghost Gundam" features a sculpt based on the previously released Phantom Gundam, with numerous new parts added. Its distinctive rare metal coating is recreated with metallic paintwork, and the full-body "Ghost Light" effects are now rendered in translucent purple parts. The head can be swapped to display its "Forced Dual Cooling Mode" or a damaged mono-eye revealing the internal Jupiter-style camera.
The Ghost Gundam boasts highly articulated joints throughout its body and features the transformation mechanism for its "Mirage Wazo" mode. Its arsenal, including the Heat Knives, waist-mounted rifles, and the multi-purpose weapon "Kujaku," all come with impressive beam effects, allowing collectors to recreate various dynamic battle scenes from the manga!
