Long time no see, everyone! It's been a while since my last submission.
Today, we're excited to share a look at the 1/12 scale vending machine kit released by PINKTANK.
The blue, white, and red color schemes are iconic for Japanese vending machines, so I had to get all three!
After a two-week wait for international shipping from Amazon Japan via a forwarding service, they finally arrived!
However, I must say, PINKTANK's packaging is... extremely minimalist. Just a plain cardboard box, with no shrink wrap or plastic bags whatsoever. T_T"
But no worries, the model itself is excellent!＠＠
My favorite parts are these three panels – they're truly the soul of the vending machine.
It also seems each color scheme is themed after different beverage companies: red for Coca-Cola, blue for Pepsi, and white for tea-based drinks.
During assembly, I noticed the entire kit comes in plain molded colors, requiring some detail painting in specific areas.
For instance, painting the coin slot silver and the front lower vents black would really enhance the realism.
Doesn't the completed model look incredibly realistic?
Since I purchased these via a forwarding service, I opted not to get the original decals this time, fearing they might get lost in separate shipments. It's a bit of a shame.
Otherwise, adding stickers for energy efficiency or warnings on the front would make them even better.
Finally, I set up a simple diorama to evoke the feel of a Japanese office smoking area.
Let's have Goro and Kenzo Kogure try out the vending machines! (laughs)
