TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, recently announced the latest addition to its highly poseable mecha action figure line, ROBOT Damashii. Coming from "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory," the "MS-06F-2 Zaku II F2 Type (Noien Bitter) ver. A.N.I.M.E." is slated for release in December 2021.
The MS-06 Zaku II served as the Principality of Zeon's primary mass-produced mobile suit during the One Year War. Its superior mobility and extensive armament far outclassed the Earth Federation Forces' weaponry at the time. Coupled with its high adaptability and ease of modification, various Zaku II variants were deployed across numerous battlefields, solidifying its status as the iconic mobile suit of the Principality of Zeon.
In the later stages of the One Year War, based on data gathered from the Earth Drop Operation, the Zeon forces developed the "Late Production Type," also known as the F2 Type. This variant featured reinforced chest armor and enhanced thrust, along with a higher-output engine and lighter airframe, significantly boosting its overall performance. While it didn't see extensive action during the One Year War, it continued to be utilized by both the Federation Forces and Zeon remnants after the conflict's end.
The "MS-06F-2 Zaku II F2 Type (Noien Bitter) ver. A.N.I.M.E." being commercialized here is the mobile suit used by Zeon commander Noien Bitter. He piloted this unit to lead a diversionary attack, allowing Anavel Gato to escape to space with the stolen Gundam GP02A "Physalis." The overall design is based on the previously released Zaku II F2 Type (Kimberley Base Specification) ver. A.N.I.M.E., boasting excellent sculpting and flexible articulation.
For accessories, the figure comes packed with a wealth of armaments, including the 120mm Zaku Machine Gun, leg-mounted 3-tube missile pods, hand grenades, and various magazines. It also features rocket boosters and smoke effect parts, allowing collectors to recreate the powerful flight scenes from the series. Furthermore, parts from this unit can be mixed and matched with the Kimberley Base Specification version to replicate modified, custom-built mobile suit configurations!
