Max Factory, the Japanese toy company behind the popular and diverse PLAMAX model kit brand, has announced the fourth entry in its "Steel Armor" series from "Shin Mashin Hero Wataru": the Steel Armor Gen-Oh-Maru, slated for a December 2021 release.

The Steel Armor series Mashin originate from the 1989 OVA anime "Shin Mashin Hero Wataru: The Mountain of Mashin Arc," which tied into TAKARA's "Mashin Daishugo" model kit line. Atop Mount Soukai, the legendary ultimate Mashin, the "Emperor Dragon," was sealed. Its golden body can separate into shimmering "Steel Armor" parts, which can be equipped by Mashin like Ryu-Oh-Maru, Sen-Oh-Maru, Jaku-Oh-Maru, Gen-Oh-Maru, and Ku-Oh-Maru, significantly boosting their power. When all five Steel Armor Mashin combine their strength, they can unleash the ultimate attack, the "Imperial Dragon Thunder Wave."

The PLAMAX MS-15 Steel Armor Gen-Oh-Maru builds upon the previously released standard version kit. The Gen-Oh-Maru's main body features new, more substantial pearl and metallic molding colors, complemented by newly sculpted Steel Armor parts. Its shoulder "Maki-Gai" can expand to form the imposing "Imperial Dragon Air Wings," giving it a more dynamic silhouette. The kit also comes with a wealth of weapon accessories and can be reconfigured back into its original Gen-Oh-Maru form.
