Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya recently announced the upcoming release of the latest addition to their original robot model kit series, "FRAME ARMS," with the "TYPE・HECTOR JOYEUSE" slated for January 2022.
The TYPE・HECTOR JOYEUSE is the latest design by Kou Inaba, known for his work on units like the Type 48 Model 1 Kagutsuchi. This machine is a variant color specification of the DURANDAL, featuring sharply sculpted dark gray armor and a massive, broad upper body, making it a visually imposing unit. It also boasts a wealth of heavy armaments mounted on hardpoints on both arms, including the longest sword-type weapon released in the series to date.
The "FRAME ARMS TYPE・HECTOR JOYEUSE" kit shares its basic structure with the DURANDAL, utilizing the unassembled "Frame Architect Renewal Ver." universal frame. The parts are molded in dark gray, dark silver, metallic red, and other colors, faithfully reproducing the "jet black" color scheme from its design. Each joint features articulation, and the shoulder connections for the armaments boast a four-axis movable structure, allowing rotation in various directions.
For weaponry, it includes a shield and a 26 cm long sword-type armament that can function as both a greatsword and a giant cannon. Compared to the DURANDAL, this version comes with double the armaments, featuring two sets of sword and shield parts. This allows for dynamic dual-wielding poses, with shields mounted on both shoulders and swords in both hands, creating an even more impactful look! Additionally, the sword blade parts now include a clear molded version, which can be painted by the builder in various colors.
