Japanese collectible toy division TAMASHII NATIONS, part of BANDAI SPIRITS, recently announced the latest additions to its popular S.H.Figuarts articulated figure line: the "Body-kun/Body-chan Ken Sugimori Edition DX SET," scheduled for release in December 2021.
Renowned Pokémon designer and illustrator Ken Sugimori has been instrumental in shaping the world of Pokémon since the original "Pokémon Red/Green" games. He's responsible for character and Pokémon designs, official illustrations, including the iconic looks of various protagonists and, most famously, Pikachu. For this special S.H.Figuarts release, Sugimori himself designed the figures, sculpting them to reflect the distinctive proportions of the boys and girls from his artwork. Each set also includes classic accessories like "hats" and "backpacks," staples for many Pokémon protagonists.
The male figure, "Body-kun Ken Sugimori Edition DX SET," comes packed with accessories including a hat, backpack, fishing rod, bug net, and five pairs of interchangeable hands. The female figure, "Body-chan Ken Sugimori Edition DX SET," features a hat, backpack, book, binoculars, and five pairs of interchangeable hands.
Both figures boast highly articulated joints, allowing for a wide range of poses to recreate everyday scenes in nature, like fishing, bug catching, or observing. They are also perfectly suited for pairing with Pokémon figures to bring your favorite in-game moments to life, all infused with Ken Sugimori's unique artistic style! The clear display stand also functions as a convenient accessory storage box and can be used to hold the figures steady for artists who wish to pose and sketch them.
