Japanese toy giant TAKARATOMY's highly creative capsule toy brand, Panda's Ana (パンダの穴), is bringing back its super popular "Mochibake" series! Following the release of the first, second, and third volumes of "Mochibake" (もちばけ), which combine adorable ghosts with traditional Japanese sweets, the highly anticipated fourth installment, "Mochibake: Shi no Maki," is making its comeback! This new collection features five delightful designs, priced at 200 JPY per capsule, and is slated for release in August 2021.
The name Mochibake (もちばけ) is a playful portmanteau of the Japanese words "omochi" (mochi) and "obake" (ghost). These soft, mochi-like ghost creatures are a signature offering from Panda's Ana's fictional Japanese confectionery shop, "Panda-do." The "Mochibake: Shi no Maki" lineup includes: the refreshing, translucent Warabimochi perfect for summer; Karami Mochi, topped with grated daikon radish; Kinako Mochi, generously coated in roasted soybean flour; the classic three-skewer Mitarashi Dango; and Hina Arare, a colorful green, white, and pink rice cracker that pairs perfectly with the Hishimochi from the previous Hina Matsuri-themed volume!
