CSM Unveils Ultimate Kamen Rider 1 & 2 Typhoon Henshin Belt for 50th Anniversary, Arriving January!

Bandai Spirits' premium adult collectible line, "COMPLETE SELECTION MODIFICATION" (CSM), is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Japanese tokusatsu series "Kamen Rider" by returning to its roots with the release of the highly anticipated "Kamen Rider 1 / 2 Typhoon Henshin Belt," slated for January 2022.

The Typhoon Henshin Belt is the transformation device equipped on Takeshi Hongo's waist after he was surgically altered into a cyborg by Shocker. The belt's central windmill generates energy from wind power, activating a miniature nuclear reactor within his body to supply his artificial muscles, transforming Hongo into Kamen Rider 1. Later, while Hiroshi Fujioka, who portrayed Hongo, was recovering from an injury, Hayato Ichimonji, who stepped in as Kamen Rider 2, also utilized a Henshin Belt of the same specifications.

As early as 1971, when "Kamen Rider" first aired, Popy, a toy company under the Bandai Group, released the very first Kamen Rider Henshin Belt toy, the "Light Up! Spin! Henshin Belt." This iconic toy featured a leather belt and a metallic-textured casing. By inserting batteries and flipping a switch, the central windmill would light up and spin, recreating Kamen Rider 1's transformation scene. It sold an astonishing 3.8 million units within two years.

This new "COMPLETE SELECTION MODIFICATION Typhoon Henshin Belt" recreates that original toy with cutting-edge technology 50 years later. It utilizes a variety of materials, including genuine leather, metal, and ABS, for the red belt, metallic accents, and various sculpted details. Inserting batteries activates a rich array of light and sound effects, faithfully reproducing the spinning windmill on the front and the exquisite Showa-era retro analog dials on the sides!

On the side, the analog button section allows you to play a wealth of dialogue recorded by Takeshi Hongo (portrayed by Hiroshi Fujioka) and Hayato Ichimonji (portrayed by Takeshi Sasaki), along with various transformation, special move, and in-show background music sound effects, simply by pressing the "Transformation / Special Move Button," "Dialogue Button," "BGM Button," or "Hurricane Induction Device Switch." The analog dial adjusts the music, and an infrared sensor located above can even trigger transformation sounds in sync with Kamen Rider 1's iconic transformation pose!

The front windmill faithfully reproduces its in-show spinning mechanism via electric power, with built-in full-color LED lights creating a dynamic glowing effect during rotation. Furthermore, for the first time in a Henshin Belt toy, it features an "automatic mask deployment mechanism" to recreate Kamen Rider 2's specifications. When activating the transformation sound in Kamen Rider 2 mode, the mask automatically deploys, and the internal windmill begins to spin!

The product also comes with a wealth of accessories, including 16 metallic belt decorations in two interchangeable styles. The belt display stand features a metal plate engraved with the product serial number and can be configured for both Kamen Rider 1 and Kamen Rider 2 styles. Additionally, items like a "Red Scarf" and a "Junior Rider Team Badge" are included, allowing fans to role-play as the children from the in-show Junior Rider Team!
