Japanese toy company Megahouse (株式会社メガハウス) has announced a new kaiju figure for its "Ultimate Article" series, known for its impressive large scale and sound/light features. The latest addition is the "UA Monsters Godzilla (1962)", inspired by the 1962 film "King Kong vs. Godzilla," and is scheduled for release in late December 2021.
Standing approximately 30 cm tall, the "UA Monsters Godzilla (1962)" meticulously recreates the suit design used during the film's production. Its reptilian head, particularly with its wide, upturned eyes, appears quite charming and comical from the front. Meanwhile, its robust legs and thick tail give the overall sculpt an overwhelming presence! The rough, uneven skin texture, sharp claws, and milky-white dorsal fins are all faithfully rendered.
This figure also boasts fantastic sound and light features. Flipping the switch on the base to "Mode 1" illuminates Godzilla's originally milky-white dorsal fins with a vibrant blue glow. In "Mode 2," collectors can activate Godzilla's powerful, iconic roar, accompanied by flashing light effects in its mouth and dorsal fins, making it an incredibly valuable collectible! And honestly, you might just find yourself wanting to poke a stick in its mouth! LOL.
▼ From the front, it looks endearingly clumsy and cute.
