Following popular collaborations with Evangelion, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Pui Pui Molcar, and even Star Wars, Bandai's beloved Tamagotchi virtual pet line is now diving into the hit anime "Jujutsu Kaisen." Fans can look forward to the "Jujutsucchi" Tamagotchi units, along with dedicated "Hugmy Tamagotchi Sets" that include adorable figure stands. These are sure to tempt collectors! Pre-orders are currently open on Japan's Premium Bandai website, priced at 2,530 JPY for the standalone unit and 4,400 JPY for the set, with an expected release in December 2021.
The classic childhood toy, the "Tamagotchi" (たまごっち!), was first launched in 1996 by Japan's BANDAI and WIZ. This handheld electronic pet game features a cute, egg-shaped device where players raise various digital pets. Players can care for their pets anytime, anywhere, feeding them, cleaning up after them, and watching them grow.
The "Jujutsucchi" units adopt the original Tamagotchi's mini size, measuring 40mm x 30mm x 25mm. The game content is integrated with the "Jujutsu Kaisen" worldview, allowing players to train sorcerers through mini-games involving Sukuna's Fingers, Cursed Corpses, and Cursed Tools, all while challenging them to exorcise curses! Players can raise various characters, including Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Toge Inumaki, students from Kyoto Jujutsu High, as well as Satoru Gojo and Kento Nanami. When characters get hungry, players can feed them onigiri and the popular Kikufuku mochi.
This release features four distinct electronic pet units designed after Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo. Each unit comes with a corresponding "Hugmy Tamagotchi" soft vinyl figure. These figures, ranging from approximately 7.5 to 11 cm tall, are designed in a charming chibi style to 'hug' the Jujutsucchi, making them perfect decorative pieces for any room.
