BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, renowned for its highly detailed and articulated Master Grade (MG) Gunpla kits, has announced a new limited-edition product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY." The "MG 1/100 Gunner Zaku Warrior (Lunamaria Hawke Custom) [Clear Color]" is set to launch on August 21, 2021, at THE GUNDAM BASE, the official Gunpla flagship store.
The ZGMF-1000 Zaku Warrior series served as the primary mass-produced Mobile Suits utilized by ZAFT in C.E. 73. Originally, prototypes for the nuclear-powered "New Millennium series" were developed towards the end of the previous war. However, following the signing of the Junius Treaty, the Neutron Jammer Canceller, which bypasses nuclear energy restrictions, could no longer be used for military armaments, forcing a switch to battery-powered operation. Despite this, the series still boasts exceptional performance, especially the highly versatile ZGMF-1000 Zaku Warrior, which can adapt to various combat situations by swapping out its Wizard Packs, including Blaze, Gunner, and Slash types.
The "MG 1/100 Gunner Zaku Warrior (Lunamaria Hawke Custom) [Clear Color]" utilizes the same base kit as the previously released standard version. It features the latest engineering to achieve MG-standard proportions and intricate armor details. Inside, a simplified universal inner frame is employed, with the power pipes connected by ball joints that articulate in conjunction with leg movements. Both the Gunner Wizard Pack and the M1500 "Orthrus" High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon are also precisely sculpted.
This particular version replaces the purple, white, and two shades of red armor parts with clear plastic molding, creating a unique, highly translucent finish that allows a glimpse of the internal frame structure. The Gunner Wizard Pack and the M1500 "Orthrus" High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon are molded in metallic colors. This clear color scheme also makes it easier for customizers to implement special techniques like LED lighting or glow-in-the-dark paints, offering a distinct aesthetic compared to regular Gunpla releases.
