Following the release of the popular protagonist Kabane Kusaka from the 2021 TV anime "Kemono Jihen," Japanese toy manufacturer MEDICOS ENTERTAINMENT is now launching the second figure in the series: a 1/8 scale figure of Kon! It will have a suggested retail price of 13,800 JPY and is slated for release in April 2022.
Authored by Japanese manga artist Sho Aimoto, the shonen manga series "Kemono Jihen" (怪物事変) centers on Kabane Kusaka, a hanyo (half-yokai) born from a ghoul and a human. In search of his birth parents, Kabane joins monster specialist Kohachi Inugami at the "Inugami Kemono Detective Agency," where he lives alongside other yokai children. The fox girl Kon is one of the subordinates of the kitsune woman Inari. Despite her initially obedient nature, Kon is straightforward and innocent, eventually developing feelings for Kabane after various twists and turns.
The MEDICOS "Kon" 1/8 scale figure, co-developed by Medicos Entertainment and BANDAI NAMCO ARTS, brings to life the cover illustration (drawn by Nozomi Tachibana) from the "Kemono Jihen" anime Blu-ray & DVD Volume 3. Standing approximately 185mm tall, the figure faithfully recreates Kon's courageous leaping pose, complete with a fierce expression showing her sharp canine teeth and translucent flame effects swirling around her feet. This dynamic sculpt perfectly blends cuteness with a powerful presence. A particular highlight is her fluffy tail, which features a gradient effect transitioning into flames at the tip.
