Following the release of the "Black Ranger Donatello & Blue Ranger Leonardo" and "Yellow Ranger Michelangelo & Pink Ranger April O'Neil" sets, US toy giant Hasbro's Lightning Collection is back with its third two-pack from the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" comic series: the "Red Ranger Raphael & Foot Soldier Tommy" 6-inch action figure set! This dynamic duo is slated for an April 2022 release.
The "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" comic, a multi-company collaboration between Hasbro, IDW, Nickelodeon, and BOOM! Studios, brings together these two iconic IPs. The story sees the five Power Rangers and the four Turtle brothers unite to battle the villainous Shredder and uncover the reasons behind Tommy's betrayal. These new action figures are based on the Turtles' morphed Power Ranger forms from Issue #4 of the comic. Let's take a closer look at Raphael! With his striking red and white battle suit and golden turtle shell, this is personally my favorite design from the entire crossover. The new weapon, a fusion of a trident and the Dragon Dagger, is incredibly cool, though it looks a bit awkward hanging from his waist! The figure also comes with effect parts and an unmasked head sculpt for versatile display options.
Next up is Tommy, reimagined as a Foot Soldier. The figure perfectly recreates his signature black and purple ninja attire, complete with silver arm guards on his forearms. The masked head sculpt, featuring aggressive blood-red eyes, looks incredibly menacing. Accessories include a katana, effect parts that can be attached to his arm and sword, and Tommy's unmasked head sculpt.
