To celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Spirited Away," Japan's official Studio Ghibli specialty store, Donguri Republic, has launched a series of commemorative merchandise. Following the first wave, which included the "More! Gluttonous No-Face Piggy Bank," "Witch's Contract Seal," and "Candlestick Streetlight," a second wave of products became available for pre-order on August 7th! Among these highly anticipated items are the Boh Mouse & Flybird painted finished figure and the "Spirited Away Tea Time / Feast Accessory Cases," both adorably recreating iconic scenes from the film.
Studio Ghibli's highest-grossing film, "Spirited Away" (千と千尋の神隠し), directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki, premiered in Japan in 2001 and won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2003. The story follows ten-year-old Chihiro Ogino and her parents as they get lost and stumble into the spirit world, embarking on a fantastical journey through the "Bathhouse." Beyond its exquisite visuals and moving soundtrack, the film's rich character designs, including Haku, No-Face, and Yubaba, along with the underlying allegories, remain popular topics among fans.
