Japanese model manufacturer SYUTO, known for its "Sushi Plastic Model" (寿司プラモ) series, is back with the highly anticipated third installment: the 1/1 scale "Ikura Gunkan Maki (Ver. Ikura)" assembly model! Following the buzz-worthy "Tuna/Salmon Sushi" releases, this latest kit, priced at 1,540 JPY per piece, challenges builders to meticulously assemble 364 individual vinegared rice grains and place 64 varying-sized salmon roe pieces, resulting in an incredibly realistic sushi replica.

The 1/1 scale "Ikura Gunkan Maki" assembly model requires adhesive to painstakingly attach each rice-grain-sized piece of vinegared rice. With a staggering 364 rice parts, builders have plenty of room for creative arrangement. Once the arduous task of assembling the rice is complete, you then wrap it directly with the nori (seaweed) sheet – completely obscuring the rice underneath! The nori parts were specially developed in collaboration with food sample company Iwasaki Co., Ltd. to achieve a realistic sheen. After wrapping, builders meticulously place the individual salmon roe. These glossy, transparent roe pieces come in three sizes – large, medium, and small – totaling 64 pieces, enhancing the overall realism. Every detail, inside and out, has been meticulously considered! Once assembled, the model boasts an impressive level of completion without any additional painting required.

To further enhance the collectible value of the sushi model, the packaging is specially designed to resemble a takeout sushi box, a hyper-realistic touch that's sure to bring a smile. Displaying it alongside previous releases allows collectors to create a delicious-looking sushi platter!
