As Go Nagai's "Mazinger Z" manga approaches its 50th anniversary, BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division is set to release the "Soul of Chogokin GX-70SP Mazinger Z D.C. 2021 Special Color Ver." as an event exclusive for TAMASHII NATION ONLINE 2021. This highly anticipated release will retail for 15,400 JPY and is slated for November 2021.
The classic 1970s Japanese anime "Mazinger Z" (マジンガーZ), a joint project by manga artist Go Nagai and Toei Animation, stands as the inaugural entry in the "Mazinger Z series" and the very first "piloted giant robot" anime. The protagonist's super robot, Mazinger Z, is controlled by docking a Pilder into its head, pioneering the genre of giant robots in Japanese animation history and profoundly influencing subsequent large-scale robot works.
The "Soul of Chogokin GX-70SP Mazinger Z D.C. 2021 Special Color Ver." stands approximately 170mm tall. This commemorative release features a luxurious electroplated finish for the main body and comes packed with accessories, including the Jet Scrander (for combination), a Jet Scrander flight mode, multiple interchangeable hands, a meticulously detailed Pilder, a special 50th-anniversary display base, and a dedicated stand.
