▼ All done! Let's take a look at the finished build. Hedwig is absolutely massive.
▼ Let's start by admiring this new version of Hedwig. While LEGO previously released a brick-built Hedwig (set 75979), this new iteration benefits from a much higher piece count, allowing for greater detail in the head and wings. Clever building techniques are used to capture the texture and coloration of her feathers.
▼ The tail feathers are also impressively full and well-shaped!
▼ The head can rotate a full 360°.
▼ Her talons feature ball joints, allowing them to realistically grip the acceptance letter.
▼ Next up are the books, which feature an intricate page texture. At the bottom of the stack is the seemingly ordinary, blank Tom Riddle's Diary.
▼ The open book's pages are cleverly constructed by stacking three L-shaped assemblies and sliding them into a pre-built frame. It's a brilliant technique!
▼ Next, we have Harry's wand and glasses, the Potion Bottles, the Hogwarts Acceptance Letter, and the Golden Snitch.
▼ Here's Felix Felicis, perhaps one of the more obscure magical items in the set. Also known as "Liquid Luck," this potion grants the drinker good fortune for a limited time. It famously appeared in Professor Slughorn's class in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," and he later gifted a vial to Harry. This LEGO version even uses a glow-in-the-dark element!
▼ And here we have the Gryffindor... fries? Oh, wait, it's the house scarf! The set also includes extra parts so you can build a scarf for your favorite house.
▼ Now for a personal favorite part of the set: the 3D Chocolate Frog Card-style frame, the display stand featuring a LEGO Harry Potter logo tile, and the exclusive 20th Anniversary golden minifigures of Albus Dumbledore, Rubeus Hagrid, and Professor Minerva McGonagall. The printed tile with Dumbledore's name is also a fantastic touch.
